Biosecurity risk management

Emerging pest and disease syndromes, and changes to the way countries trade in animals, plants and their products, have meant that biosecurity risk management is now critical to governments and industry.

Broadleaf have been actively involved with biosecurity risk management for more than 10 years.  During that time we have worked on a range of projects with government agencies and industry in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Broadleaf is currently involved in a collaborative project that will see the development of a spatial simulation model for urban pandemic influenza, called AUSFLU.  Tamworth has been chosen to be the urban centre for testing the effectiveness of Australia's response strategies.

We can also provide training in all aspects of biosecurity risk management.

We have specific expertise in the development and application of standards and guidelines.  We also specialise in quantitative risk modelling, using simulation modelling techniques based on Palisade's @RISK add-in for Excel.
